Shane Iversen

Master Sergeant (Ret.) Shane “Ivy” Iversen serves as the Veteran Liaison Officer for the Piney Woods Service Association. His 27-year military career began in the United States Marine Corps and concluded in the U.S. Army Special Forces. He served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and throughout the Global War on Terrorism, working overseas with multiple government agencies before retiring in 2015.

In his role with PWSA, Shane helps ensure veterans attending events feel welcomed, supported, and comfortable. He works directly with participants to address needs during events and to foster a safe environment where veterans can connect and share experiences.

He believes the organization provides more than wilderness experiences—it offers a lasting support network and a reminder that veterans and their families are appreciated and not forgotten.
